ONE Lake District family business were 'honoured' after welcoming footballing royalty Romeo Beckham and girlfriend Mia Regan over the festive period.
During their pre-Christmas Lakes break, the pair opted to stay at In The Vale - a small group of 'handcrafted bespoke cabins' based at Birkett Mire, a working Lake District hill farm.
Romeo, who plays as a forward for MLS Next Pro club Inter Miami II, booked to stay in 'The Fawn' for two nights.
Romeo, the son of football legend David Beckham, posted highlights from his trip with his girlfriend Mia Reagan to his 3.6 million followers on Instagram.
Clips posted to TikTok appear to show the couple visiting Catbells, Derwentwater and enjoying the peace and tranquility of cabin life.
The couple opted to stay in 'The Fawn' which is kitted out with a king-sized bed, luxury wetroom, oak kitchen, log-fired hot tub, as well an indoor wood burning stove.
Speaking to the News & Star, The Birketts said: "None of us actually believed it was Romeo Beckham, we all thought it was possibly just a misused name and email."
"Obviously we never told anybody on the run up to Christmas, as if it was genuinely Romeo he was probably looking for a quiet undisturbed break in the Lake District.
"Sure enough Romeo arrived with Mia and was welcomed into The Fawn by ourselves".
"We were honoured that Romeo had chosen to stay with us despite having a large selection of luxury accommodation to choose from in The Lakes.
"We ensured his stay remained low key until he posted a TikTok of himself and girlfriend in one of our cabins."
