WAOS are currently rehearsing for their upcoming production of School of Rock: The Musical and it’s set to raise the roof!
Auditions were held in 2022 to bring together a cast comprising members from both junior and senior sections.
Based on the 2003 film School of Rock starring Jack Black, this family fun musical follows failed wannabe rock-God Dewey Finn posing as a substitute teacher at a respected prep school in order to get some much-needed cash.
There he learns of his students incredible musical talents and soon transforms straight A students into a mind-blowing rock band.
Director and playing the part of Dewey Finn, Tony McGee, said: “School of Rock is a great underdog story, packed full of upbeat music from the film to support the live onstage kid’s band. WAOS juniors are rising wonderfully to the challenges that this show brings and ‘Sticking it to the Man!’”.
School of Rock is being performed from October, 15-18. Tickets are on sale now via the Carnegie Theatre Box Office and online.
