A MOTORIST has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink-driving on Christmas Day.
Ryan Burns, 34, was driving a Vauxhall Combo on Gote Road in Cockermouth on December 25.
A breath test showed he had 46mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
The defendant, of The Paddocks, Great Broughton, Cockermouth, pleaded guilty to driving with alcohol level above the limit.
Burns was banned from driving for 12 months, to be reduced by 12 weeks, if he completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
He was fined £153 and must pay £85 costs and a £61 victim surcharge.
