A popular comedy actor and comedian from the award-winning television series Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights is set to take to the stage at Cockermouth’s Kirkgate Centre on Saturday, January 28.
Archie Kelly, best known for his comic portrayal of Kenny “Dalglish” Senior in Phoenix Nights, is top of the bill at the show. He has also appeared in a number of other popular TV shows including Jimmy McGovern’s The Street.
“Archie excels as a live performer and we have other great comedians joining him for the first of our regular new comedy nights in 2023, Comedy@Kirkgate,”
said Kirkgate’s General Manager Emma Heys.
The venue has a full evening programme of jazz, film, folk, and talks as well a wide range of daytime activities throughout the year.
“We’re very pleased to be bringing regular comedy into the mix for local audiences”, added Emma.
Saturday’s show will be hosted by Egremont-based comedian John Lebbon, who runs Platinum Wolf Promotions and is a stand-up comedian and writer.
Joining John and Archie is Paul Imrie - a name on the up, who is being championed as a new talent to watch.
