CUMBRIA County Council has announced a number of events that will mark National Apprenticeship Week.

As part of the national week, the County Council are hosting a number of free events to spread the news about its up and coming apprenticeship opportunities.

The events will also provide help and advice to those starting a new career and considering the apprenticeship route.

Each year the County Council recruits dozens of new appretices into a variety of different roles, including civil engineers, business administrators, accountants, firefighters and care workers, with this years events geared towards giving young people, parents and carers more information about the options that are available. 

Cllr Sue Sanderson, Cumbria County Council Cabinet Member for Schools and Learning, said:

"Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity for people to earn while they learn and many of our apprentices go on to secure permanent employment and further training."

"We have a vast range of opportunities coming soon. Whether you’re leaving school and looking to start a new career or already in employment, we have something to suit everyone."
