IN light of the most delicious week of the year, we've asked the people of Cumberland where to get the best pie in the county.
British Pie Week runs from March 7 to March 13, encouraging those around the UK to celebrate one of the nation's favourite dishes.
When we asked our readers' entries and shout-outs came flooding in, showing that Cumberland really is a county full of pie lovers.
Delicacies range from staples like steak, lamb and mint, mince, with even a few more obscure ones in there like bacon and egg making the list.
Whilst the list is in no particular order, one business repeatedly got a mention, showing that, by and large, much of Cumberland only has pies for Steve Wilson Butchers.
1. Steven Wilson Butchers, Corby Hill
Based on Corby Hill, the family butcher is open six days a week and has a legion of fans singing its praise.
Chris McClelland said: "Steve Wilson’s butchers without a doubt. Deep-filled steak pies are amazing."
Anne Thursby said: "Steven Wilson, has to be Cumbria's best."
2 Pie Demand, Carlisle
The husband and wife team sells a range of pies in Unit 1 Water Street in the city centre on offer four days a week.
The business aims to bring something different to the pie world, traditional flavours we all know and love but with a modern twist.
Kath Johnson said: "Pie Demand without a doubt"
Louise Cattan agreed: "Pie Demand is the best."
3. Cottage Pie, Dearham
The small, family-run bakery, on Maryport Road, won an abundance of praise from readers.
It specialises in artisan bread as well as traditional baked pies and savouries.
Jude Cheyne described their offering as 'delicious'.
4: Cranstons Butchers, Carlisle
Established in 1914 in the Eden Valley village of Kirkoswald, the family business has expanded across the county, which shops in Carlisle, Brampton, Penrith, and Orton Grange.
Margaret Stephenson-Ritchie said: "Cranstons of course."
5. Gosforth Bakery, Gosforth
All you knead is at Gosforth Bakery.
Situated in the quaint village of Gosforth, sits a picturesque bakery that's been feeding hungry mouths both in the community and passing visitors from far and wide for the past 42 years.
Maxine Herbert said: "Gosforth bakery, you can get them at bridge end garage in Egremont on a Wednesday and Thursday as well."
