A TOTAL of £1,124 has been raised for Keswick Mountain Rescue by generous guests at Allerdale Borough Council’s final Civic Dinner.
The event, which took place at the Greenhill Hotel, Wigton, saw the Fell Foodie, Harrison Ward attend as guest of honour.
Mayor of Allerdale, Cllr Allan Daniels said: “The Civic Dinner is all about celebrating the achievements of the past year, but this year’s event was also about celebrating all of Allerdale Borough Council’s achievements, as well as supporting my chosen charity, Keswick Mountain Rescue.
“It was a real honour to have The Fell Foodie, Harrison Ward join us as our guest of honour.
"Hearing his story about overcoming his battle with alcohol addiction and how he merged his love of cooking and passion for hiking to create a new ‘vice’ was truly inspiring," he said.
