Award-winning Scottish singer Emily Smith and New Zealand born songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jamie McClennan will be playing in Cockermouth on Saturday night.
The duo have worked together for almost 20 years and will be performing at The Kirkgate Centre.
"With sublime double vocals, guitars, accordion and viola their music draws influences from folk, Americana and beyond," said a spokesman.
Their new album ‘Small Town Stories’ features original material (written by McClennan) drawing inspiration from their shared life experience as touring musicians and in recent years, becoming parents.
Smith’s accolades include BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the year, two BBC Radio 2 folk award nominations and twice winner of Scots Singer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards.
They have toured throughout Europe, North America, Russia, Japan and Australasia and along the way have collaborated with many musical greats including Richard Thompson, Barbara Dickson and Jerry Douglas. TV and radio appearances include Transatlantic Sessions, BBC Songs of Praise, BBC Radio 2's Good Morning Sunday, The Folk Show and Bob Harris Show.
