Cockermouth's first book festival proved such a success it's hoped it will become an annual event.
Lots of people enjoyed what was on offer at the event organised by The Kirkgate Arts and Heritage Centre in Cockermouth.
It had three main categories throughout the day: Historical and Local Roots, Young People and The Lakeland Book Award, and Crime and Detective, followed by an evening special with guest speaker BBC political correspondent Jonathan Blake.
A team of volunteers ensured everything went smoothly.
Chloe Maitland, Kirkgate Community Projects Officer, said: "There was a lovely atmosphere and great mix of people.
"We had two hosts, seven authors and two special guests from the world of news broadcasting: Fiona Armstrong and Jonathan Blake.
"Lots of people were buying books and getting them signed.
"We are hoping to make it an annual event."

Cockermouth School teacher Nick Taylor said: "It was an honour and pleasure to host the children and young people's category discussions. To sit alongside two incredibly talented and creative new writers was a real inspiration.
"I'm already excited about next year's event."
