A WEST Cumbrian organisation is calling out for residents to engage in a 'conversation about future opportunities and developments'.

Building Extraordinary Communities (BEC) is calling out to communities in West Cumbria to engage in conversation, so they can better understand the wants and needs of the area and give residents a platform to share their views and help shape future projects.

The firm’s existing developments include The Bus Station in Whitehaven, Westlakes Science Park, Blencathra Business Centre and new developments such as Whittles Digital and Gaming Hub and a Creative Music Hub with partners, Soundwave.

The Community Conversation events are set to take place on Monday, May 22 at 10am at Whitehaven’s United Reform Church and Tuesday, May 30 at The Carnegie in Workington.

Emma Williamson, community impact manager at BEC said: “It’s important to give residents the opportunity to have a voice and to be able to contribute to the design and delivery of activities, services and projects that are delivered in their area.

“The aim of the Community Conversation events is to provide a simple, effective, and flexible format for engaging with residents about the things that are important within their community."
