A Cockermouth charity is delighted to have secured National Lottery funding for a family support service it is setting up.
Team Evie was set up by Greg and Jill Johnston following the death of their first daughter, Evie, who died aged six months in September 2015.
"We are thrilled that the Peer Support Service we are working hard to create has been granted funding from the National Lottery," said Greg.
"We can't wait to get the service up and running."
The plan is to work with other agencies, charities and medical teams to provide a support service for families in need.
"The Peer Support Service will be carried out by volunteers who have 'been there' and have lived experience of the challenges the people we are helping are facing," said Greg.
"It is a support like no other and we know that with our expertise as a charity and with the wonderful Team Evie community around us we can create a team which makes a difference to so many people's lives."
The charity would like to hear from people interested in being a peer supporter.
