AN antique shop dealing in quirky eclectica has been a popular feature of Cockermouth high street for more than three decades.
Colin Graham Antiques is quirky and interesting, and sells a wide range of antiquarian items that catch the eyes of everyone from passers-by to serious collectors.
Colin opened the store over thirty years ago and said he has enjoyed a steady flow of custom throughout those years.
Mr Graham said: "I've been in business for over thirty years. I decided to set up the shop after I had a heart attack at the age of 32 and was looking at alternative ways to make a living.
"I've always been very much interested in antiques. I don't stock anything in particular, I have items ranging from a pound to two or three thousand pounds.
"We do collectibles such as pottery, china, glass, medals, books, small furniture articles, glassware, paintings, bottles, miner's lamps, and jugs amongst other things.
"I've had a lot of interest over the years but as an old antique dealer once said to me 'You'll never make a fortune lad, but you'll have a nice living out of it'.
"Most of the people who come into my shop are serious collectors, it amazes me what people want to collect.
"I had a customer who would come every year, and still does, who collects rat traps.
"I didn't have any for a while, but believe it or not I did have one for him and he was very impressed.
"I just have the privilege of owning the item for a period to pass it on to a more discerning collector, but I'm able to say 'I had one of those.'
"I do sometimes travel to auctions in the northwest of England but a lot of my items come from private sources.
"I'd welcome anyone to come and buy off me, let's make a deal!"
