A NORTH Cumbrian who was charged with assaulting his 86-year-old father and causing him actual bodily harm has been declared not guilty.

Nicholas Allan Heyes, 60, from Rosley, consistently denied the allegation, relating to events on June 12 last year. The alleged victim was named as Derek Hayes, the defendant’s father.
