TALKS are ongoing in a dispute between bin workers and management from Allerdale Waste Services, as the strikes continue.
Meetings with trade unions, facilitated by ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) were set up by Allerdale Waste Services (AWS) and Cumberland Council in a further attempt to resolve strike action, earlier this month.
The talks continue to go on, with further talks scheduled this week to try and resolve the ongoing strike action, after workers at Allerdale Waste Services went on all out strike on May 16 in a dispute over pay.
ACAS is an organization which aims to provide a service to resolve work-related disputes and promote harmony.
In a statement on Monday, a spokesman for ACAS said: “Further Acas-led talks were held today, which have now adjourned. Acas remains in touch with the parties and will reconvene later this week.”
