Cumbria, known for its peaceful scenery, and being crowned the most 'instagrammable' place in the UK, still suffers from crime issues.

According to official police statistics, violence and sexual offences have become the most regular crimes in the county.

A recent analysis of police crime maps by the News and Star revealed the areas with the highest number of reported crimes, including the largest proportion of violence and sexual offences.

The data, based on June records, shines a light on the darker side of this popular UK destination.

It is important to note that the policing boundaries have recently changed so figures may differ from previous months.
