Art lovers and bargain hunters are in for a treat this weekend with two festivals in the area.
Maryport's St Marey's Church will hold its annual art and crafts fair while Crosby's village hall will also be packed with arts and crafts.
The St Mary's event is being organised by Reflections, a group based at the church for the families and people with dementia.
Entry is free and there will be refreshments as well as produce stalls featuring homemade jams, marmalades and chutneys, along with raffles and tombola.
Both the Mareyport and Crosby events will showcase a wide range of local talent, from knitting, crochet and quilting to painting, photography, jewellery and wood-turning crafts.
At both venues, items will be for sale, and some for show.
The Maryport event will encourage others to give a new hobby a try by watching daily displays ranging from spinning yarn and flower arranging and woodworking.
People will be given the chance to show how they can join in producing free-of-charge items such as baby needs for the local West Cumberland Hospital, or helpful aid items to those who live with dementia.. There will be someone from Reflections to speak to if you want to volunteer towards meeting local needs with your own talents. All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the town’s St. Mary’s Church.
Crosby will be holding its 12th arts and crafts show, and event that has attracted visitors to the village over the years.
The Maryport fair will be open from 10 am to 4.30 pm on Friday and Monday, August 26 and 28 and 10.30 am to 4.30 pm on Sunday.
Crosby's annual art and crafts fair will be held in the village hall on Sunday from 11 am to 3.30 pm.
