A LOCAL history talk will be held at Cockermouth Library next week.
Stan Leigh will be giving a free talk on September 19. It will explore the various sources of water supplied to Cockermouth and Maryport from the wells that existed in Roman Papcastle, Wells and ponds, Crummock Water and Thirlmere.
It will feature the Roman Road from Maryport to Papcastle, the Maryport Pumping Station and the reservoir tanks at Papcastle.
