There will be lots of festive sparkling fun in Cockermouth this weekend - when the much-loved Christmas lights are switched on.
The entertainment - organised by the town council - starts at 1pm on Sunday, when the Dancing Divas will take to the stage on Main Street.
They will be followed by Stagecoach Theatre, carols with Cockermouth Mechanics Band, Luke Matear and Sneaky Finch - all warming the crowds up before the big countdown to switch on at 5pm.
Mayor Julie Laidlow will be doing the honours, accompanied by town school children.
Santa will be greeting people in his grotto, there will be a funfair, giant snow globe, face painting and lots of entertainment.
Local groups will have colourful stalls, selling everything from mince pies to mulled wine and much more, to raise money for their charities/ organisations. There will also be food and drink stalls.
"It's always a brilliant day," said Cllr Laidlow. "There will be many charities raising funds, as well as lots of entertainment for all the family and music until 6pm.
"It's always lovely to switch the lights on - they're the best in the area!"
Cumberland Council is supporting the event with free parking available in all Cockermouth car parks except Fairfield.
