A MARYPORT takeaway fire is believed to have started accidentally within an extraction unit in the premises.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service attended Atish Takeaway on Senhouse Street in Maryport to reports of a fire in an extraction unit on November, 14 at 7.27pm.
It is understood that Senhouse Street in the town was closed off while crews worked to try and put out the fire.
Flames can be seen coming from the back of the building in a video taken by one eyewitness.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire said: "Crews from Maryport, Aspatria, Workington and Whitehaven attended the incident where the fire was brought to a safe conclusion by Firefighters.
"The fire is believed to have started accidentally in the extraction unit."
