Pupils at a Cockermouth primary school enjoyed a musical workshop with a talented quartet.
Years 3 and 4 at Fairfield School took part in the event organised by Cockermouth Music Society.
Sirocco Winds, a quartet assembled from graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland based in Glasgow, lead the workshop.
The society's Chris Bower said: "They had a good rapport with the children. The pupils identified instruments, were shown how they were played and what they could do; sometimes extremely loud!
"They also learned the basic skills of conducting and how to recognise musical passages in a bigger piece of music, like a donkey braying or a cockerel crowing.".
The pupils were also entertained with short passages of music which showed what the instruments could do together, said Chris.
Sirocco Winds return to Cockermouth on February 13, 2024, when they will give a concert in the United Reformed Church.
