Welcoming lanterns, festive goodies and discounts await people who take part in the Spirit of Christmas Late Night Shopping in Cockermouth tonight.
Organised by the Chamber of Trade, shops will be open from 5pm till 7pm.
"Traders will put lanterns in windows, some people are offering discounts, others treats like mulled wine and mince pies," said a spokesman.
"They will all be doing something different. The aim is to drive footfall and encourage people to come into town and enjoy the incredibly beautiful Christmas lights."
