A town councillor asked a Cumberland Councillor director if people could be given some flexibility when using their parking permits while the bridge closure is in place in Cockermouth.
Darren Crossley, director of Place, Sustainable Growth and Transport, attended the town council meeting last Wednesday.
Cllr Stephen Barnes asked if people with permits for specific car parks could use them in others, to avoid having to do lengthy detours around town.
Darren said: "There was a very recent debate about parking, we need to do a review."
Cllr Barnes said: "Something needs done in the short term, while the bridge is closed. It's causing so many problems."
Darren replied: "Leave it with us, we will do something."
