A Cockermouth arts centre is appealing to its supporters for financial help to ensure it can stay open.
Kirkgate Arts and Heritage is hoping people will give regular donations "to raise more money for our core costs to keep the Kirkgate open in these tough times and maintain the quality of the experiences we offer".
An appeal to supporters says: "Like everyone, we’re being challenged by the cost of living.
"Our record of success and resilience is impressive. We’ve improved our building. We’ve expanded our programmes of shows and activities.
"Our volunteers have just won the King’s Award for Voluntary Service. But things don’t get any easier on the financial front.
"The staff and volunteers work flat out to increase income from every possible source, but only a handful of people make regular charitable donations to us."
The charity is focussing on fundraising and asking supporters to make regular donations.
"Any amount that you feel able to give would make a difference and help Kirkgate be the cultural community hub that we all love," said a spokesman.
One supporter said: "I make a monthly donation because entertainment, arts and culture are a very important part of my life and the community, and we need Kirkgate to thrive."
