A KESWICK man who showed a “flagrant disregard” for a court order than banned him from contacting a woman has been jailed.
Lewis James Brown, 23, flouted a domestic violence protection order by contacting the woman on November 22, eight days after the 28-day order was imposed by magistrates following a police application.
He denied the breach but was convicted after a trial at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.
The defendant, of St Kentigern Close, Keswick, was jailed for two weeks. He is likely to be released at the halfway point in the sentence. There was no order for the defendant, who was in court for the hearing, to pay prosecution costs.
He was represented by defence lawyer Chris Toms.
