A CUMBRIAN rescue team were called to assist in the search of a missing woman, who had last been seen near a pond.
Maryport Rescue Team were called out to Siddick Pond, near Dunmail Park Shopping Centre in Workington yesterday, December 13 at 7:51pm to assist in the search of a missing woman, before the team were stood down when the woman was later found.
A spokesman for Maryport Rescue Team said: “The team were requested by Cumbria Police to assist in a search for a missing female last known position was in the Siddick pond area near Dunmail Park Shopping Centre “Arriving quickly on scene with colleagues from West Cumbria search and rescue.
“A command-and-control point was established with teams searching the immediate area both land and water-based assets in attendance. And utilising our SAR Drone a search was conducted.
“Teams also searched the old side area. As the search was progressing the welcome news was received that the missing person had been located safe and well in another area of Workington “All teams then stood down and returned to their stations.”
