TRIBUTES have been paid to a Maryport coastguard, with his crew saying their 'hearts are heavy' after his death.
Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team have paid tribute to their 'friend and colleague' Will Douglas following his death.
In a statement, the Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, said: "Our hearts and those of the wider coastguard family are heavy.
"Our friend and colleague Will Douglas has passed away and our thoughts are very much with his family.
"Losing a member of the HM Coastguard family is deeply painful to all of us. We train together and we serve together.
"And now we grieve together for Will’s loss and will look to support each other and his family.
"We will miss him more than we can say, but for now, MPT 10, stand down."
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team have also paid their respects to Will, saying: "Our good friend and colleague Will."
