A WALKER was taken to hospital following a 'slip' at the base of a popular Lake District mountain.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out today, January 9 at 1:55pm to Catbells to reports of a walker who had slipped at the base of the mountain.
The rescue team administered relief, before splinting the walker who was later taken to hospital for an x-ray and further treatment.
A spokesman for Keswick MRT said: "Another cold and sunny day in the Lakes, but unfortunately for one walker, a slip near the base of Catbells resulted in a lower leg injury. Keswick team were able to access an old mining track in our Land Rovers and get close to the casualty.
"After some pain relief and splinting the walker was transported to her vehicle and her partner drove her to hospital for an x-ray and further treatment."
