A Cumbrian charity is looking for keen swimmers to complete this year's Great North Swim to raise funds.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is looking for swimmers to brave the Windermere waters for one mile, to raise vital funds for the charity on June 7 to June 9 this year. Around 7,500 swimmers are expected to take part in the weekend-long celebration.

Jenny Urwin, Hospice at Home fundraiser and keen open water swimmer said: “We are really excited to have the Great North Swim on our 2024 events list. I have been open water swimming for many years and I always say how mindful swimming in nature can be. Coupled with the goal of raising money for the charity, to help those in our community, we hope that our swimmers will find this challenge a meaningful and fun experience."

Places cost £30, and each participant is encouraged to raised £150 for Hospice at Home. Fundraising information packs and charity t-shirts will also be provided.

If you, or a team of friends, family or colleagues are interested in taking part and supporting a vital, local charity please call the fundraising office 01768 210719 or email Jenny at fundraising@hospiceathome.co.uk.
