A WORKINGTON amateur dramatic society are well underway in rehearsals for their up and coming production.
Following on from the successes of both School of Rock and Phantom of the Opera, Workington Amateur Operatic Society's junior section anticipates yet another smash hit, when the group perform Disney's The Little Mermaid.
The musical follows young mermaid, Ariel, as she follows her heart and her dream of joining the human world. With well known songs such as ‘Part of your World’ and ‘Under the Sea’, this show is set to fulfil everyone's childhood memories.
Director Jennifer Hawley-McGee said: "Rehearsals are progressing really well for this Disney family favourite.
"Talented members as young as eight are working superbly alongside some of our adult members to bring this well-loved show to life.
"We have fabulous costumes, state of the art scenery and a few special surprises to entertain our audiences. We are also looking forward to providing our relaxed performance to ensure there's something for everyone to enjoy."
Choreographer Robyn Miller said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to get creative with the choreography and make up designs for The Little Mermaid.
"With over 40 junior cast members, this production has been my favourite challenge yet. Incorporating new tricks, dance styles and the phenomenal talents of our junior cast, all whilst creating the illusion of being under the sea."
The Little Mermaid will run from March 13- 16 and tickets can be bought from the Carnegie Website and Box Office.
