NEW trees have been put in place in an Allerdale wood.
This comes after the previous trees were destroyed in a landslip some years ago.
A National Trust spokesperson said: "After the hard work making exclosures earlier on this winter, the Wych Elms went in last week at Johnny's wood.
"These trees grown at Green Up Borrowdale will replace those that were lost in a landslip years ago. The saplings were grown from seeds saved by Pete Barron before the trees were lost so their legacy can now live on."
