THE next phase of the flood alleviation works in Flimby will begin this week.
The works will begin on the A596 on Monday, March 4.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "The next phase on the A596 in Flimby will start on Monday, March 4 until Friday, March 15, weather permitting.
"Throughout this period, the A596 will continue to be accessible - with traffic lights in place.
"Traffic lights will be manually controlled from 7am until 7pm each day but will be placed on a timer for other times.
"Please plan your journeys in advance, to allow for any delays caused by the traffic lights.

"We appreciate your support and patience during these works and apologise for any inconvenience and disruption caused."
