A WORKINGTON man set himself an almighty eating challenge after a takeaway started offering 24 inch pizzas to its customers.
Samadi's takeaway on Harrington Road in Workington set customer Iain (Rollo) Rollason a huge challenge to eat one of their 24 inch pizzas in only half an hour.
Although the Workington man came close to conquering the challenge, he missed out by two slices. He estimated that the dish might have been the 'biggest pizza ever made' in Workington in a post on his social media.
Mr Rollason, said: "I had 30 minutes to eat the pizza. The pizza was amazing by the way and they always are from Samadi's... I ended up two slices short of eating it all in 30 minutes as it was getting cold, it was hard to eat.
"I warmed the two slices up in the microwave and finished them after the challenge though, so it was all eaten.
"I didn't train for the challenge. I just did it at the end of a normal day and a normal day's eating, but looking back I should've maybe left more room for the giant pizza."
The business has confirmed that they will be continuing to do the 24 inch pizza challenge for people to do either as an eating challenge for themselves, or if they just want to share between friends.
