A lifeboat rescue team will receive a royal award later this year.
Maryport Rescue will receive the King’s Award for Volunteers on Sunday, June 2, by the Lord Lieutenant for Cumbria Alexander Scott.
Station staff are asked to be on site for 12.30pm on the day as Mr Scott is scheduled to arrive at 12.45pm.
Later that month, Maryport Rescue will hold a fun day on June 22, which will feature an appearance of the RAF parachute team and a fly past from the Lancaster Bomber.
There will also be a dog show, live music, a bar, food, and a crafts stall.
