TWO quad bikes which were reported stolen in Cumbria have been recovered by police.
The vehicles, which were allegedly stolen in the Lake District, were linked to two suspects in Northamptonshire, police said.
A spokesperson from the rural crime team said: "Within five hours of two quad bikes being reported stolen in the Keswick area, we had two suspects in the cells in Northamptonshire.
"One vehicle has been seized for use in crime, and both suspects have since been bailed with conditions not to enter Cumbria whilst our investigation continues.
"Huge thanks to Northamptonshire Police for your assistance. We're fortunate to have a great network of dedicated colleagues all around the country- so you can expect a knock on your door if you choose to travel to our county to commit rural crime.
"Lambing season has been tough enough, and we know how much our farmers rely on their quads, in addition to the impact of having a stranger on your premises stealing your property.
"We'd like to encourage suspicious activity to be reported- whether it's a vehicle or a person causing some concern- please ring it in on 101. You might just be able to help us prevent a crime."
