A CUMBRIAN village has said 'thank you for the music' this weekend, following an Abba-tastic festival raising funds for good causes and bringing people together.
Brightside Events presented Super Trouper at Seaton Village Hall and recreational ground over the Bank Holiday Weekend to help raise awareness, support and funds for The Freedom Project Cumbria and Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
Andrew Burns, director of Brightside Events Limited said: "What a Super Trouper weekend! This is exactly what Brightside Events was created for using events to provide a memorable experience for the community while raising money for charity.
"I have grown up in this village but never seen such support from Seatoners and the loyal supporters who travel into Seaton each year for this festival.
"It’s taken a lot of planning, late nights and outlay to put something this scale on but it's all worth it. I want to thank my Brightside team, we seem to become a small family over the weekend."
Hope Vallely from the Freedom Project said: "What fantastic weekend full of laughter and a sense of community pride.
"The Freedom Project team had a great weekend spreading awareness and collecting donations for those affected by domestic abuse living in our area, thank you for having us and well done to all those involved in running the weekend, it was brilliant."
Gemma Bell from Hospice at Home West Cumbria added: “What a brilliant weekend our team had at the Super Trouper event. Thank you for inviting us to be part of it, enabling us to raise awareness and donations for the services we provide across West Cumbria.
"It was great to see the community come together enjoying such a fantastic event, and we loved seeing everyone wearing our sunflowers!
"Thanks again, we’re truly grateful for the continued support from our local community”.
