WORKINGTON MP Mark Jenkinson has welcomed a group of primary school children to Parliament, as they attend a residential in London.
The MP welcomed the Year 6 pupils from Victoria Junior School, Workington to Parliament, giving them a tour of the estate before receiving questions from the students.
Mr Jenkinson said it was 'great' to speak to the children who were said to have a keen interest in the landmark's history, with the MP quizzing children on what they had learnt whilst on the tour.
Mr Jenkinson said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Year 6 students from Victoria Junior School in Parliament this morning.
"As part of their residential in London, pupils had an in-depth tour of the parliamentary estate, learning about its history spanning almost 1,000 years.
"It was great so speak with them after, to answer their questions and quiz them on what they learnt. It was a joy to see their excitement and curiosity.
"A massive thank you for to the teachers and staff who accompanied them. The support and dedication to these children are truly commendable."
