A NEW community garden will be launched in Workington next week, with residents invited to join in on a garden project taster day.
The launch of St Mary's Westfield Community Garden will take place on Thursday, June 6 at 11am.
Local residents are invited to come along for a garden project ‘taster’, the site is accessible and has raised beds so it is suitable for all.
Helen of Helen’s Herbs will be supporting the session, as will Workington’s Green Space Friends, who will be offering a ‘plant swap’ just ahead of Great Big Green Week which starts on Saturday, June 8.
Many gardeners and allotment-holders have spare seedlings at this time of year and if they pot them up, they can bring them along and take part in the swap.
