FOUR people including a teenage boy and 25 year old woman have been arrested after a spate of vehicle interferences and burglaries in Workington. 

Police are investigating a series of vehicle interferences and burglaries which have taken place between 11pm on May, 11 and 4:30am on May, 12 in Workington.

The incidents have taken place on the following streets: Wesley Street, Rydal Street, Napier Street, Hillcrest, Burrow walls and Corporation Road.

Officers are appealing for anyone in these areas to check their CCTV and contact the police should it contain anything of note. 

Officers have arrested four persons in connection, they are:

  • A 31-year-old Man from Workington was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of theft from a motor vehicle, three counts of vehicle interference, two counts criminal damage, two counts of attempted burglary, burglary dwelling and theft, attempted criminal damage and common assault.
  • A 27-year-old man from Whitehaven was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of theft from a motor vehicle, four counts of vehicle interference, burglary dwelling, two counts of attempted burglary dwelling with intent to steal and three attempted burglary dwelling with intent to steal.
  • A 25-year-old woman from Workington was arrested on suspicion of six counts of theft from a motor vehicle, four counts of vehicle interference, two counts of attempted burglary dwelling with intent to steal and burglary dwelling and theft.
  • A 16-year-old boy from Workington was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

All four have been released on bail whilst officers continue to conduct enquiries.
