A POPULAR West Cumbrian carnival will return this weekend, with organisers excited to see the return of the annual event.
Seaton Children's Carnival will return to the village of Seaton this Saturday, June 8 with the village set to be awash with colour from the many floats and participants.
Chairman of the committee, Lauren Woodman said: "We just love it, it's been a tradition for 113 years now and it's only been stopped a handful of times for pandemics and a war... it's just a tradition that everybody in Seaton looks forward to every year.
"We are just thrilled that it can keep going because there are so many dying a death. We are thrilled we have got the support of the people of Seaton to keep going."
The roads will be closed through the village from 12pm on carnival day and will be reopened when the carnival is safe back on the field, with the road closure ending at 5pm.
People who live on the route have been asked to move their vehicles from the road side to allow the carnival to pass through the village.
