Almost 200 babies were born in hospital across North and West Cumbria last month according to North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC)
In June, there were 189 babies born at hospitals across Cumbria. Of those 189, 97 were girls and 92 boys with three sets of twins born during that time period.
One hundred babies – 52 girls and 48 boys – were born at the Cumberland Infirmary and 89 babies – 45 girls and 44 boys – were born at the West Cumberland Hospital.

The busiest day at the Cumberland Infirmary was June 28 with seven births and at the West Cumberland Hospital it was June 11 with six births.
A spokesperson for NCIC said: “Congratulations to all the new parents and carers.”
