A MUCH loved children's carnival will return to one West Cumbrian village this weekend, as the organisers look forward to welcoming people the event.
The Broughton Children's Carnival will return to the village this Saturday, July 20 with the procession starting at 2pm and is said to 'always be a good atmosphere'.
Anyone is welcome to take part in the carnival with organisers saying: "Just turn up at the top of the School Field on Moor Road by 1.30pm for a prompt 2pm start. Visiting Queens welcome!"
This year's Carnival Queen is Esmé Little and the Retiring Queen is Eleanor-Mae Kirton.
The procession goes through Great and Little Broughton ending on the Welfare Field where the crowning ceremony will take place at about 4pm.
All children under 16 in the procession will receive a ticket for refreshments.
A rolling road closure order from Cumberland Council will be in place between 2pm and 4pm.
