A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for parts of Cumbria later this week.
The Met Office has shared the warning for Thursday, August 1, which will see 'multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms' as well as possible disruption.
Most of England is expected to be hit by the severe weather, though large parts of Cumbria will likely be spared.
Areas that could be affected include Barrow, Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands, Kendal, Sedbergh, Kirkby Lonsdale, Windermere and Alston, said the Met Office.
The Met Office warned that the conditions could lead to some road closures, as well as cancellations to bus and train services.
They said: "An area of showery rain is likely to develop and move north-eastwards across parts of Wales, the Midlands and northern England. This will be heavy and perhaps thundery at times, persisting through Thursday morning before easing towards midday.
"Some areas could receive rain accumulations of 25-50 mm over the course of a few hours."
