A LAKE District Wetherspoons pub has been selected as the first stop in an internationally-renowned tour operator's plan of the most iconic Wetherspoons in the UK.
Last month, it was announced that MyUKTour would soon be offering two itineraries designed around one of the UK’s most iconic institutions; JD Wetherspoon.
Cumbria features prominently on this tour, with the historic “The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas”, in Keswick, serving as the first stop.
The Justice of the Common Pleas, which has a rich history, was built in 1901 and originally served as a magistrates' court and police station. It is also listed by Historic England for its special historical interest.
Visitors can still see many of the original features, including the canopied witness stand and the police station cells, making it a fascinating spot for history enthusiasts and JD Wetherspoon aficionados alike.
