AN AUTHOR is set to release a guide which will reveal the 'most haunted' places in Cumbria.
Steve Watson runs a company that organises ghost walks in the North East called GHOSTnortheast.
The company organises public and private ghost hunts and paranormal investigations at the North East's most haunted locations.
He has published three books previously on his experiences as a ghost hunter. The books are part of the series Paranormal and have been set in Middlesbrough and Teesside, Newcastle and Sunderland.
Now the paranormal history of Cumbria will be brought vividly to life in this next guide titled 'Paranormal Cumbria'.
In this book, psychical researcher Steve travels from the county’s northern areas of Carlisle, Brampton and Penrith, through the Lake District, before finishing in the seaside towns of Grange-over-Sands and Barrow.
Places such as the Bridge House in Ambleside, Levens Hall, the Ring O'Bells in Kendal, Roa Island and Furness Abbey in Barrow and The Crown Inn in Flookburgh are featured in the book.

Steve explains that he chose Cumbria as the place to focus his next book due to its history and having heard 'many stories over the years'.
He said: "Stories in the book came from personal experiences during ghost hunts with my team at GHOSTnortheast and stories that I have been told by people over the years. I visit Cumbria regularly as well as visiting the area for holidays as a child."
A spokesperson for the book's publisher Amberley Books said: "Exploring the area’s often grisly past and its present-day hauntings so the reader can go on a journey through the county’s history and feel the levels of activity it has witnessed over the years.
"Paranormal Cumbria takes the reader into the world of ghosts and spirits in the county, following their footsteps into the unknown. These tales of haunted places, supernatural happenings and weird phenomena will delight ghost hunters, and fascinate and intrigue everybody who knows Cumbria."
It added: "A fabulous collection of ghostly hauntings in Cumbria that will fascinate and intrigue everybody who knows the area."
The book is set to be published on September 15. It comprises 100 illustrations and 96 pages.
