A POPULAR family run hotel has opened its doors to people in Workington with the hopes of providing a new 'staple eatery' in the town.
The Hall Park Hotel based on Carleton Road has been run by the Fryer family for the last 14 years, with mum and dad Sue and Paul and children Jack and Lauren all contributing to the success of the business.
In recent months the family have decided to start providing food from the bar and restaurant attached to the hotel - which is currently 'thriving' - to the public.
For years the hotel has operated a bar which has been popular with locals, with the family realising there was a gap in the market for a 'staple eatery in the heart of the town'.
Speaking about opening the restaurant to the public, Lauren Fryer Bold said: "We have been providing food to our hotel guests for a couple of years and it has been a great success.
"Workington recently has lost a few eating establishments and we feel it lacks a staple eatery at the heart of the town.
"We would love to offer local people a place to either walk or drive to for a proper pub meal."
Since opening up to the restaurant to the public, the family have received a great reception from the community. Lauren said: "The reception has been amazing. We have had a successful response to our food, newly renovated bar and most importantly our staff."
The hotel is currently offering food to the public from Monday to Friday, with meals on offer from 5pm-9pm.
The venue is priding itself on serving traditional pub grub with dishes such as pies and lasagne on offer to customers, as well as a host of desserts.
Speaking on the future of the hotel, Lauren said: "We would love to see support from local people in Workington and the surrounding areas.
"Our main aim is to grow the business and become a well established eating venue in the heart of our town."
