CUMBRIA Police have handed out ten Criminal Behaviour Orders in the Allerdale area.
These are handed out to persistent offenders by neighbourhood policing teams.
Failure to comply with the orders can result in a prison sentence.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "Part of Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Teams role is to obtain Criminal Behaviour Orders against persistent offenders having a detrimental impact on the community.
"Criminal Behaviour Orders are a useful tool to place restrictions on individuals to prevent further criminality.
"Allerdale NPT work with partners to provide evidence to the courts to grant the orders which help protect business owners and local residents from individuals' persistent criminal behaviours.
"Since the start of 2024, Allerdale NPT has secured 10 Criminal Behaviour Orders against offenders in the Workington and Mayport areas.
"Breaching the order is a criminal offence, which can lead to a prison sentence.
"The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison."
