A WEST Cumbrian amateur dramatic group will take to the stage this month with a performance of a hit west end musical.

Workington Amateur Operatic Society's Adult Section will perform The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

This production follows last year’s sell out success of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ this spring, and will once again showcase the breadth of talent in the group's membership, from west Cumbria and surrounding districts, both on and off stage.

The musical follows Quasimodo, the titular character, as he fights against the torment of being kept hidden from the outside world by his adopted father figure, Frollo, meeting friends a long the way such as Romani gypsy, Esmeralda.

With well known songs such as ‘God Help the Outcasts’, this show is set to tug at heart strings and inspire us to dream.

The Hunchback of Notre Damn will run from October 15-19 and tickets can be bought from the Carnegie Website and Box Office.
