Five lovely pooches, currently in the care of Animal Rescue Cumbria, are ready for rehoming. Are you ready to meet them?

Animal Rescue Cumbria and The Wainwright Shelter take in, rehabilitate and rehome 350 cats and dogs every year. Once a dog has been assessed by the animal care team, they can be advertised for adoption.

These beautiful dogs are ready to find their forever families…

BASIL is around five or six months old and is a Great Dane Cross.

(Image: Animal Rescue Cumbria) This ‘sweet’ pup gets along well with other dogs and would like his new family to be around most of the time.

Basil could live with another calm dog and would love a home with a secure garden to play in.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said: “Since he’s still a puppy, Basil will need someone who can continue his training and help him grow into the gentle giant he’s meant to be.”

With his Great Dane genes, he’s going to be a big boy, so an owner with experience with large breeds or someone prepared for a big, lovable pup would be perfect.

TEDDY is an 18-month-old Lurcher.

He would love his new family to be around most of the time and could live in a home with older children.

Teddy would like to be the only pet in the household and needs a home with a secure garden.

NOVA is a 15-month-old Shar Pei Cross.

Nova is described as a ‘very sweet and affectionate’ dog who enjoys going for walks.

While she would like to be the only pet in the home, Nova can be walked with other dogs.

She could live with older children and would like a home with a secure garden to explore.

SAMSON, the German Shephard, is estimated to be around a year old.

(Image: Animal Rescue Cumbria) This ‘clever’ canine is looking for a special home where he will have a job to do.

Samson is looking for an extra special owner who has experience handling large breed dogs and can provide consistent training.

He needs a home where there are no children or other pets, and will a large, secure garden.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said: “Samson is very clever and eager to please so will require plenty of mental stimulation on a daily basis, alongside plenty of exercise. Having a job for Samson will be very fulfilling for him!”

MIKE, the Spitz Cross, is estimated to be around five years old.

(Image: Animal Rescue Cumbria) This ‘very sweet’ boy has been with the charity for over a year and is looking for an extra special, patient owner who can continue his training.

Mike needs a quiet, adults only home where there are few visitors, and he is the only pet.

The charity said: “Once Mike gets to know you, he is a very sweet boy who enjoys a fuss. He loves to explore our secure field, and his recall is coming on well.

“Mike can be reactive when out on walks so would like to find a home in a quiet are where there are not many other dogs and will need an owner who can build his confidence. A home away from built up areas where there are quiet walks would be great for Mike.”
