DRIVERS in and around Allerdale will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A66, from 8pm September 8 to 6am October 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Threlkeld to Keswick, traffic signals for Resurfacing A66 Greta (Threlkeld) Bridge Deck.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A66, from 1pm October 17 to 10pm October 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Bassenthwaite Lake, Lane closures and carriageway closure for cyclic works.

• A66, from 8.30am October 21 to 4pm November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 both directions A66 Dubwath, junction to A66 Lamplugh Rbt - two-way signals for signs - erection on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
