An ice rink has opened in a Cumbrian town to entertain all ages this winter.
The Solway Holiday Park in Silloth announced the opening of its ‘Covefest-ive’ event earlier this month, which involves a pop up ice rink being operated for several days, a Santa’s grotto and other entertainment.
The weekend of festive activities is set to take place from Friday, November 1 to Sunday, November 3, offering a range of entertainment for all ages.
The event kicks off on Friday evening, from 6pm to 10pm, with the opening of an ice rink and a selection of funfair rides.
Visitors can also enjoy live music, featuring a Taylor Swift tribute act, while a bonfire adds to the cozy atmosphere.
The evening will conclude with a display of bangless fireworks at 9pm, designed to be family-friendly, and food vendors will be available throughout the night.
On Saturday, the event continues with an all-day schedule that includes a Christmas market, funfair rides, and the ice rink.
Santa’s Grotto will be open from 2pm to 4pm, and entry will cost £5.
The day will again feature live music and a bonfire to create a festive atmosphere.
The final day, Sunday, offers another opportunity to visit the Christmas market and ice rink, with the addition of a festive menu available at Borders Restaurant from 12pm to 8pm.

Santa’s Grotto will also be open from 2pm to 4pm for those who missed it on Saturday.
This weekend-long event provides a variety of activities, from family-friendly entertainment to seasonal shopping and dining, making it a fitting start to the festive season.
Another seasonal event the park is holding is pumpkin carving workshops, which has seen guests getting creative with their designs, from creepy faces to intricate masterpieces.
